Blue Light Promoter controlling Chloramphenicol Resistance
Blue Light Promoter (BLP) controlling Chloramphenicol Resistance (Chlor) on pSB1A3 vector BBa_P1004 (Chlor) BBa_K238013 (BLP)
Reporter ycgF responds to blue light changing its conformation and dimerizing with ycgE molecules. Because of the dimerization, ycgF releases from the promoter region. Consequently, ycgF no longer represses gene transcription. Downstream, the gene for chloramphenicol resistance is now accessible to transcription enzymes. Thus, blue light initializes chloramphenicol resistance.
